Struggling with writing? Your savior is here! The College of Humanities and Social Sciences proudly presents an advanced talent training workshop. We’ve invited Professor Hsuan-Fu Chao from the Department of Educational Psychology and Counseling at National Tsing Hua University to help you break through writing obstacles. He will teach the structure of academic writing, techniques for organizing literature, ways to present data, common issues, and more—helping you craft logical, clear papers or proposals.

In addition, an hour-long paper review session will follow the lecture. Participants will be divided into small groups for feedback and guidance from Professor Hsuan-Fu Chao, retired Professor Juan-Feng Chang from the Department of Psychology, and Postdoctoral Researcher Yen-Ting Yu from the Department of Psychology at National Cheng Kung University.

⭐ Workshop Details:

 

  • Date: Saturday, June 21, 2025 (Year 114 in the ROC calendar), 10:00 AM

  • Venue: Room CS915A, 9th Floor, Chi-Shih Building

  • Eligibility: Priority given to students from the College of Humanities and Social Sciences, followed by graduate students, then juniors/seniors, and lastly freshmen/sophomores.

  Course Schedule:

 

  • 10:00–12:00:
    Professor Hsuan-Fu Chao will lecture on academic writing structure, literature review strategies, data presentation, and common problems.

  • 12:00:
    Certificates will be awarded to full participants. Students not attending the paper review session may pick up their lunch and leave.

  • 12:00–13:00:
    Small group paper review sessions led by Professor Chao, Professor Chang, and Ms. Yu. Discussions will focus on either quantitative or qualitative content.
    (Only students who attend the full two-hour morning lecture are eligible. On-site registration will not be accepted.)

  • The list of accepted participants will be announced on the CHSS website on Monday, May 26.

  • Students who are accepted and wish to participate in the paper review session, please read below:

※ The college will send your paper to the three instructors in advance for review and grouping purposes to enhance discussion efficiency. All manuscripts will be destroyed afterward and will not be shared externally. If you have concerns, please consider what content to provide. Each student may submit one paper only.

※ Submit your paper to the CHSS email at kmuhssofficial@gmail.com by Friday, June 6. A confirmation email will be sent upon receipt.
